I love the Public Library in my city, and we are lucky to have some wonderful librarians there.

This last Tuesday, they found a coppy of the book, The Impossible Patriotism Project, and thought we might enjoy it.

The main character of the book is a boy about age 8 named Caleb.

Caleb and his classmates are assigned an important project for Parent's Night- create a display that represents patriotism. Statue of Liberty costumes, colorful maps of the United States, and papier-mâché Liberty Bells abound, but Caleb can't think of a single way to show what patriotism means to him. His dad won't even be at Parent's Night because he is serving overseas! Can Caleb look to his own family for inspiration? Celebrate the men and women serving the United States in the armed forces, as well as the families that give up so much to support them with this unique picture book for all ages.

DH read this book to the children last night, and it was a great story for our 4 and 5 year old, it opened up a great conversation about what patriotism is.  For those of us with small children, finding an engaging book about being a military family can be difficult.

This would make a great addition to your family bookshelf.
