Perspective

There are times when we all need a good dose of perspective.   Times when all we can think about is how big our problems are and how insurmountable they seem to be.

And when you get it, it’s like a punch in the gut.  A punch, by the way, that you welcome through tears of pride.

Urraahh, Devil Dogs.

About SemperFi Wife

Semper Fi Wife has had a military ID card continuously since she was ten years-old. As an Air Force brat, she horrified her father and grandfather when she chose to marry one of the few and the proud.

Almost 25 years later, she is the wife of an OIF vet and the mother of an OIF/OEF vet.

While her motto has always been "Sanity is overrated", in her more lucid moments, she volunteers with Injured Marine Semper Fi fund as well as heads up her own very small military support organization called Honor Their Service.

That was a great read! That is the one thing I can't help but take away from this military life. Viewing my complaints and struggles and 'bad' days and 'bad' moments through eyes that don't ignore real struggle and real resolve.

These women and men are more resilient than anything I've ever seen.
I've actually witnessed them getting to their feet for senior officers when they had absolutely no business to be moving.
I'm of a mind to believe that if they WANT to come back and be a productive member of their Service, then by all means, Mind Over Matter — we should figure a way to make it happen.
I know where they can get some adaptive uniforms!
Thanks for directing us to the original article … perspective, it gives us all a better perspective when we bow our heads …
