Military Wife Quote: “A good dinner and feasting…”

“A good dinner and feasting reconciles everyone,” claimed Samuel Pepys (the guy who was the nearest thing the 17th century ever came to a blogger.) I know we aren’t supposed to invest too much in the power of food. Yet every time our military family sits down to a holiday feast like we did over Easter, I can’t help but think Pepys was more right about this than our modern experts.

I can’t help it.  There is something about taking all day to make a meal, setting a table with the wedding china, pouring water into my mom’s pink glassware, and lighting a candle or two that brings out the best in us.  Suddenly there are family stories told about dogs we loved long ago.  The kids want to have long discussions about the candy variety the Easter bunny produced this year.  There is help cleaning up the kitchen and reconciliation all ’round.  Fabulous.

All of us at SpouseBuzz hope that you and yours had a lovely holiday together and look forward to the spring to come.
