Poll: How to do Mother’s Day During Deployment

Ah, Mother’s Day. That glorious day once a year where your children bring you breakfast in bed, your husband brings you flowers and you spend the day at a spa.

Unless your husband is deployed. And no one else is around to get watch the kids while you rest on your motherly laurels.

We ask you: what’s a military mom to do?

Take our little poll to the right of this post and tell us what you think – who should help you celebrate Mother’s Day while your dearly beloved is away? … And check out the results below.

I answered "my kids" because that is what I did. My mother was not thrilled at all that I chose what my kids wanted to do with me (to to the beach) over driving an hour to be with her. Tough decision, but I made it. I sat on the beach, watching my then 6 & 4 year olds play, yelling, "Watch me, Mommy!", and cried my eyeballs out.

Would do it that way again in a heartbeat.
