It’s one of those catch-22s of life: if you want to get paid for your photography work, people have to know you exist and see your work in print. And for that to happen you either have to convince them to a chance on you or know someone who can help you make it happen.
(At least, that's how I felt when I broke into journalism!)

Here at Military.com’s SpouseBuzz we like to give military spouses as much help as we can. We know that running a home-based business isn’t easy. And while we know about lots of opportunities for writer spouses to get their work out there, photographers are another thing altogether.
That’s why we are looking for your best patriotic photos to be featured here on Military.com’s SpouseBuzz over July 4. We’ll take the 10 best submissions and post them in a slideshow. We’ll then hold onto those photos for future use on both the SpouseBuzz blog and on the Military.com homepage.

2. Upload your best patriotic photo (with watermark!). The photo must be larger than 600x400 pixels.
What we’ll do:
1. We’ll pick our favorite 10 photo submissions and use them in our Independence Day post.
2. We’ll email you to let you know you’ve been chosen.
3. We'll credit you each time the photo is used either in a caption in the blog post, via the watermark on the photo or both.
