Who Is the 2016 Military Spouse of the Year?

Over the last several months we asked you to vote for the most impactful military spouses you know across the Defense Department. First, you made nominations. Then, you participated in a series of online votes to help a panel determine the ultimate top six candidates for 2016 -- a spouse from the Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and National Guard. Finally, your input was left with a panel of judges, including senior spouses and past winners, and the ultimate winner for 2016 was chosen.

Who is she?

The 2016 Military Spouse of the Year is Natasha Harth, a Marine Corps spouse stationed in Washington, D.C. Like many military spouses, Natasha is a volunteer extraordinaire. She's the Air Force Officer Spouse Thrift Store manager, Girl Scout Brownie troop leader at her base and was the 2015 Military Spouse of the Year for Marine Corps Barracks, Washington.

But the thing she's done that speaks the most to me is her work with the homeless in D.C. Her organization, Be a Blessing D.C., collects supplies and passes them out to homeless in the city. She's in the process of filing as a non-profit and has enough supplies on hand to pass out bags for the next five months, she said.

We can't wait to see the awesome things she does over the next year for the military community. Congratulations, Natasha!
